Our host is Sidney Chahonyo, who was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 19 years, just when he was set to start college and get on with life, so to speak. Sidney\u2019s illness had profound ramifications on not just his life but that of his family as well. Thankfully, Sidney\u2019s cancer was effectively treated and is now in remission. Sidney\u2019s experience as a cancer patient opened his eyes to the plight of fellow cancer patients and their families, especially those from poor backgrounds who invariably faced the additional burden of debilitating financial and logistical challenges while seeking treatment. Sidney has since been actively involved in providing support to cancer patients in various ways, culminating with his involvement with Hope for Cancer Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, resources, and hope to families affected by childhood cancer. Their programs raise awareness about this devastating disease and help children and their families navigate the difficult journey of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
